Preparing to receive the sacrament of Confirmation
Dear parents,
on Saturday, September 13, 2025, your child will receive the sacrament of Confirmation in the Alexander’s church at 10.00 am.
We will hold the last information session on the celebration and its practice on August 24, 2025, immediately after Sunday High Mass (at 11:30 am) in our church building in the rooms of the English School, accessed from the church hall through the sacristy.
The session will be attended by all parents whose children receive the sacrament of Confirmation. In the meeting, we will review the things agreed upon and I will also talk about the most important things related to preparing for and celebrating of the sacrament of Confirmation. At the same time we also distribute the white albas to the young.
The day before Confirmation, on Friday, September 12, 2025, a rehearsal will be held at the Alexander’s church (at 16.00 pm) for the feast of Confirmation. At the same time, young people participate in the sacrament of reconciliation (confession) so that they could worthily receive the sacrament of Confirmation. Parents can also participate in the sacrament of repentance.
After the sacrament of Confirmation, young Christians are expected to actively participate in the life of the Church, especially the Sunday Mass, and to live the Catholic faith. This again requires the example of parents and a continuous support. So I ask you, dear parents, to help your child prepare well for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation and support his/her spiritual life.
